The list of countries is the set of member countries of the OECD – Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which provided statistical information for this set of countries.

There are multiple ways of identifying “industrialized countries” or “developed countries” or “advanced
economies.” One of those ways is to refer to OECD.
The OECD provides source data for
researchers. For example, the OECD sells “OECD Health Data 2007 on CD-ROM” for $108.00 with the most recent data being “for 2004/2005, with many time series going back
as far as 1960.” Another technique identifies 75 industrialized countries with the United States still being alone in providing health care for all of its people.
